Our National Convention is scheduled for May of 2019. National Convention is the time that we come together as a Union to make changes and improvements on how our Union operates at all levels, Nationally, Regionally and Locally.

Before we get to that stage, however, youhave the opportunity to have your say. Resolutions are drafted at local levels by all members of the local that wish to participate. If you have an idea or a thought about something you would like to see our Union doing, or not doing, please join us, all members are welcome. There will be an info session on how to write a resolution at that start of the workshop. All resolutions that are drafted and ready to present will be voted on at the July 8thGeneral Membership Meeting, time permitting.

If you are from one of our affiliate offices and cannot make it into our office please send in your resolution or an idea that you would like to have brought forward and the reasons why. Please contact Nancy for more information, 1-877-423-2879 ext.1, email: union@cupwedm.net or by mail. Please do include your contact information with your submission.

Looking forward to hearing and seeing how we can help our Union grow!

Saturday Office Hours

Due to the increasing number of our members that have been trying to contact us over the weekend when our office has been traditionally closed your Full Time Officers have come forward with a plan to offer Saturday Office Hours for a four month trial basis. We would like to expand our service to our Edmonton Local Members and have all agreed that we would be willing to try this out for all of you.

Every month two of our Full Time Officers, Grievance, Health & Safety, Secretary Treasurer and President, will be available on Saturdays to book appointments to meet with you or take your calls. To accommodate this change in schedule we will also have to move one of our rotation days off to a day during the week as our schedules permit, please do call ahead if you need to meet with one of us during the work week so that we can ensure that we are available for you then too.

Starting in June Carl, Grievance Officer, and Nancy, President will be covering the Saturday openings. In July Todd, Secretary Treasurer, and Rashpal, Health & Safety Officers will be covering Saturdays. We hope to continue on this rotation through August and September. To ensure the Officer you would like to meet with is in office on the day you would like to meet please do book ahead.

We are happy to be able to offer you this extra service and are looking forward to seeing what we can do with it.
